Federated Spam Protection

FediGuard monitors email bounces from organica.social, automatically detects bot and spam accounts using disposable or nonexistent email addresses, and federates blocklists with other instances via ActivityPub.

How It Works

1. Mastodon sends notification emails to new users

2. FediGuard monitors the bounce mailbox via IMAP

3. Bounces from disposable/fake domains trigger automatic blocking

4. Users with invalid emails on trusted providers are removed

5. Blocklists are shared with federated FediGuard instances
